At 6 weeks we had quiet a scare. At our first visit the Dr. was certain we were having twins. I was already showing and due to my history of multiples he said he was 80% positive. YIKES. I was ready to be a mom again, but ready for twins? Well I had to wait two grueling weeks for my first ultrasound only to discover, ONE baby Toews! What a relief.
I breezed through my first trimester with NO morning sickness, and my exhaustion wasn't anything out of the ordinary (you are always exhausted with 8 year old twin girls.) At 12 weeks I began getting headaches. These weren't your ordinary headaches. These were the kind where you hide your head in a pillow and want to die. I couldn't move. I had ice packs on my head around the clock. It took everything out of me just to get up and make dinner. They kept getting worse and worse and nothing would make them go away. Finally I discovered I was anemic. I started taking iron and BAM within a day I was back to myself again.
Just yesterday I found out that my Dr. who I praised so much is leaving his practice. YIKES. I was so happy with this Dr. I had found. Little wait times, high risk specialist who was very familiar with my rare condition HELLPS, and a father so he was compassionate. Well, obviously the Lord had other plans! I have an appointment next Friday with a Dr. that he strongly recommends. He actually delivered my previous Drs. children. We will see. I just have to remember God is in control!
